I don't really tick much nowadays. Still enjoy a decent beer just as much, along with the community that Ratebeer originally built.

I've not moved to that popular app and never will - It's become a monopoly which is having too much influence on today's craft beer scene.

Hidden out of the way down the side street by the massive seafront Doubletree hotel it’s a tiny little place with two small rooms. It’s definitely got some character along with a great selection of draft, cask and stuff in the fridge.

I liked this place a lot. Independent as the name suggests. Great varied tap list with a couple of their own beers brewed on site. Great cans available to drink in and take away and also a friendly and helpful owner. Really enjoyed the music selection too (light ish rock / alternative) which was low volume but enough to hear in the background.

A big Fullers pub right opposite the train station. Decent enough stop off when you’re early for your train.
