I don't really tick much nowadays. Still enjoy a decent beer just as much, along with the community that Ratebeer originally built.

I've not moved to that popular app and never will - It's become a monopoly which is having too much influence on today's craft beer scene.

What can I say, it’s exactly what I expected it to be. Kinda got forced on me by some friendly locals

Now I never expected to find a craft beer bar here, let alone a crazy little brewpub like this. It’s pretty raw, with the tanks around the side and all pours direct from the tanks. Most of the beer is wheats with some kind of flavour, though there are a few others and what I tried wasn’t bad. Pretty good vibe here too with a fair few people coming even on a Tuesday evening. They do food as well with the usual meat on a stick BBQ outside and an inside kitchen. If you come to Urumqi and you like beer, consider this an essential stop. At least at the time I’ve added and review it.

It’s a hazy orange golden with a small head. Malty, a little fruity, lightly sugary. Not bad. It’s not going to hold up to anything back in the UK, but this is in Xinjiang so I’m happy!

A modern place that’s taken that industrial look that seems to be going out of fashion. It’s a bit dark inside, mainly as the huge windows that would have let more natural light in have been covered with bottles. Still, I’m in Xinjiang here, I didn’t expect to find any kind of craft beer place. Do note though that although they have 36 taps, they won’t all be in use. Only 15 were when I visited, but that’s not bad at all for these parts. It’s all completely Chinese - menus, speaking etc. But then if you’ve made it here you’re unlikely to be coming in fresh off the plane 😂
