Can. Had to smile when I saw the art on this can. I've been through the Drake passage and the sea was glassy calm! Hazy orange gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Airy palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Fluffy pale malts, a nice level of creamy sweetness. Savoury skunk and cooling pine kick off the hop profile. Slightly ripe orangey citrus, little tangerine. Mild floral peach. Mild hop spice. A mild Nelson grape on the back end. Nice all round dipa, brings decent hop fruits but also shows the greener side of hops.

Can. A medium haze on this orange gold beer, very small pale cream colour head. Light palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Thin bodied pale malts but, as always with Phantom, there is a good creamy sweetness. Good modern hop trio and, they all shine. Good crisp bright pine. Bright stone fruits with Peacharine adding that floral peach. Mild mango. Idaho 7 fills in the gaps with broad spectrum piney citrus and tropical fruits. A light and mildly tangy finish. Nice dipa, delivers modern hops with aplomb.

Can. Hazy orange gold beer, small but tidy pale cream colour head. Light palate, slightly thin even, especially for a dipa! Mildly dry, good fine carbonation. Slightly thin bodied pale malts, a pleasant light creamy sweetness. Riwaka brings that enigmatic and exotic flavour profile, kinda savoury lychee but a little tropical fruits in there. Mellow skunk, possibly Nelson borne but, digging deep, some Nelson winey grape on the back end along with a mild hop spice tingle. Yeah, a very satisfying kiwi hop dipa. Had a feeling in my waters about this one and, the old man juices were right. For a change!

Can. A mild to medium haze on this gold beer, tiny pale cream colour head. Light palate, semi dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. Thin bodied pale malts bring about the right amount of creamy sweetness for this pale ale. Light pine overlays robust and slightly tangy stone fruits. Tangy in a good natural stone fruit way, not sour but, the first couple of steps on that journey. Nelson lost to me on this one, blown away by the stone fruit blizzard. Light finish shows a very mild savoury skunk. Nice pale ale, full on hop wise.

Can. Bright clear gold beer, decent off white head. Light palate, semi dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Thin bodied pale malts, a decent sweetness. Crisp pine into quite the candy peach. A whisper of tarter peach adds a little tension, even a touch of peach sherbet. Semi dry and crisp finish. Amusing. Like the peach. Strangely satisfying but then, I am a sucker for cheap Belgian fruit beers! Would not want a pint but this can was thoroughly entertaining.

The thin bodied malts bring a milky sweetness. Peacharine seems to emphasise that with a forward floral candy peach. Airy and semi dry finish leaves an almost custard like aftertaste. Mebbe diacetyl, I'm not that sensitive to it to be sure but, something ain't right..

Light cooling pine. A decent showing of citrus and mango. Little lemon, well buried. There is a good beer in here but it's slightly derailed by a bit of a tang. Nowhere near ruinous but does decrease drinkability for me.

Can. Pours the colour of Ribena and throws a magnificent if short lived bubbly pale purple head. Airy palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. After that, not so great. Smooth vanilla custard malts, decent cherry, ripe and tart elements. The back end feels a bit chemically, nothing drastic at all but clear enough to be off putting. Airy finish. Long slightly tangy ripe cherry linger. Cherry delivered with aplomb, wish this had been a more cohesive overall.

Can. Also on Keg at Gidea Park taproom a few weeks ago. Moderately hazy gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Light palate, mildly dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light bodied pale malts, a light creamy sweetness. Abundant vanilla imparts a distinctive custard vibe. Juicy bright pear, manages to be both ripe and tart. No pear drop esters, just good honest pear. The lightest touch of vanillaish milk chocolate is the touch of great design. Light tangy pear finish. Wow. Beers that feature pear are very few and far between. Good beers that feature pear are like rocking horse poo! This is rocking horse poo. Delightfully light and drinkable, fabulously pear. And with enough sweet and sour tension to make this a delight. I honestly cannot recall a better pear beer.
