Smaller place, old fashioned and brown with old time music, good service. Dutch pilsner on tap that I haven’t seen before, Buxton, Dochter van de Korenaar, Uiltje. Big list not all interesting but nice selection of longer existing breweries, more traditional breweries and pleasant terrace. Quality more old fashioned place.

Central with a big terrace and right across De Welkom. Very friendly service, old fashioned minimal interior. Saison Dupont in excellent condition on tap, Verzet, Dok and Cristal. Nice Latin music playing, good and interesting house shot and interesting well-priced menu of cocktails etc. Beer menu is a bit longer than expected with some local surprises. Overall just a very cool place.

Very central and extremely touristy. Enthousiast staff despite the pressure, big terrace and indeed tiny cute bar with gimmicky blue tiles. Beer selection is Haacht which is just garbage and some big brands. Enjoyed it more than expected but Haacht selection and everything is nothing to get excited about it. I won’t frequent it again. Seems to be called Galgenhuis now.

Brief visit with intention of visiting better in the future but now it’s closed for unspecified period with no clear restart planned. The layout makes it look like they have more beers than are on offer, bit pricier, basic room and some interesting modern craft, bottled and canned. Curious if it will continue in a different form. Not remotely as impressive as Malt Attacks but seems to aim to be its own thing.

I don’t quite remember how this got on my long list of places to visit. Busy region, popular bar and a nice terrace by a roundabout. Long list of beers which was not entirely present, uninteresting taps, BBP and De Ranke etc. bottled which is lower end of unique / interesting. Best part was that bottled beers weren’t chilled due to claims of that this is how refrigerators work, I think the opposite is true, yeah not horribly warm but definitely not cold enough. The male toilet has not seat.
