77ships Profile - Brewver (Dev)

Located by the water, this seems to be the most interesting bar in town beer-wise. Plenty of tourists here too, visited on two evenings. Chimay, Lupulus Pils, two Silly, De Ranke on tap, pretty good, prices were quite reasonable. There are also about 40 beers present from local Brussels breweries as well, comfy setting and friendly service and some fun posters. No chips available but some cheese etc. No brainer place visit.

Located right next to "A c't'heure dînant !", more beers yes but a way less interesting focussing more on quantity than quality. Some interesting spirits though.

Super passionate owner who explained his philosophy, selection and passion. Service in English and French is possible and he’s learning German. Selection was very well curated and well-priced, local beers including loads of Minne and even a house beer made by Minne, modern craft (Verdant, Põhjala etc.) Also some local products, spices, dried mushrooms etc. He pointed out which were the freshest hoppy beers etc. Next door there is another beer shop boasting more beers but a way less interesting selection. Absolutely excellent place.

Small and comfortable coffee / brunch place with a continuously rotating menu. Very friendly service, all locals when visited. Meat and vegan options, pastry, we tried focaccia, fried enoki sandwich and scrambled tofu, everything was really good, nice coffee. Wine and beer menu are were also present, small beer menu but including Siren, Surrealist, Soma, Dupont and Boerenerf, restaurant prices though (50 euro for Boerenerf). Really enjoyed my visit but the opening hours remain inconvenient 08.00 – 16.00 on work days and 10.00 – 16.00 on Saturday.

375 ml. Bottle. A: pours a quite dark orange, head disappears almost immediately, clearly little carbonation. S: low vinegar, moldy orange, it’s funky but also bit dirty, signs of age and once more watery. T: pretty much flat with some interesting but dirty funk, lingering vinegar near flat and moldy orange. This is simply disappointing, I has been a while since I got this one, last time it was quite expensive but good now it’s just expensive and worse than many standard offerings. The brand recognition is still there but the beers rarely justify it.

Located near the abbey in what looks like a historical building, menu had a long explanation of the history. Very popular and busy, pleasant local character. Friends had the food and found it to be quite good. Homemade Ice Tea was less impressive, good service. They had the abbey beer on tap and a good number of regional beers new to me. It was a nice combination together with a local hike.
