The one place to get the green Orval which is amazing. Old Orval, young Orval, the tasting tray comes standard with cheeses. Two stories, sat on the balcony outdoor on the second floor, great stuff and relaxing. Vegan options available even, got a potato, mushroom and raw vegetable salad which was nice, food all looked good. The slow service was the only minor thing. All beer is Orval safe for Jupiler NA (lol) and another NA.

The museum itself is gorgeous, informative and the ruins look spectacular, well worth the entry fee and silly not to do it if you’re already here. The shop had more than expected, official glassware which I have never seen, plates, multiple types of cheese, openers etc. Got a wooden opener, shaker type Orval glass and sadly missed the mustard.

Popular and too full terrace, we sat inside, cozy brown café. Focus is on local beers, some interesting things to find (haven’t thought about Klein Duimpje in forever) and the bigger craft, they had their house beer on tap and it was quite bad. Decent addition to a pub crawl in town.

Massive operation, including another bar around the corner, we sat outside on the terrace, looking at the water. Untappd veriried and stupid number of taps including house beers (tried one, rather meh) but also some interesting surprises from Rock City, central Waters and Polly’s, probably the most impressive selection in town, the whole was a bit generic though as a bar, aiming to attract people more than anything else.

Visited the old venue pre-covid. Absolute eternity ago. About 15 min. walk from the ferry or 1 bus stop or 20 min. walk from the metro stop. Interesting looking bar, it looks like an office of a warehouse, all glass, W / triangle shaped tables, very stretched and thin bar, lots of glass, it’s quite interesting. Small and bit awkward but interesting. Yellow touches are nice with the grey cement and black ceiling. About 15 taps and some cans at for locally okay prices, beers are some of the better ones in NL these days for me and quite enjoyed all that I tried, some snacks and a local cola available produced nearby. Definitely worth the effort if you have the time, no take-out it seemed?

Massive place, it’s basically three buildings next to each other, one more bar, one more restaurant. Draft menu is all Two Chefs, bit expensive, their beers are decent and they’re everywhere and great at branding. Lots of pink outside and bright colorful drawings on the inside. Vegan bitterballen were nice, only people in there on a Thursday afternoon. The prices make a bit less enthusing, okay visit but nothing too exciting.

Absolutely gorgeous bar going back 130+ years, quite a few tourists but not exclusively. Worth a stop for the interior, good service too. Beer menu is not that interesting and quite expensive, one thing that interested me was out, it’s pricey. Got a Brand which has a plaque here and a jenever of which they have a nice selection at standard prices. Prices / selection don’t make it too exciting for a session with beer.

Visited on a Wednesday afternoon so very quiet, venue goes back to the 70s and looks like it, proper old school. It’s very brown bar, and the menu had some interesting items but the deep fryer was not working. Vegan options are normally available, good service. Untappd verified, NA beer available, 24 taps, some macro stuff like Heineken, Affligem but interesting choices from Van Moll, Rock City, De Kromme Harring, quite a good menu, okay prices for Amsterdam, largely but not exclusively Dutch beers, quite a nice place.

Quite a big terrace on the outside with lots of red incorporated. Inside is modern, low retro bar / coffeehouse look with new wood, almost Nordic seating, nice lamp fixtures and a bit generic. They have about 25 taps including their own housebeer which was okay, lots of Dutch breweries but a bit more middle of the road ones, Oedipus, Lowlander, Frontaal, Poesiat & Kater, quite a few styles, some rarer beers but nothing that looked too impressive, Peroni too. High Amsterdam prices, we had the veggie tray of deep-fried snack which is the standard purchased stuff as elsewhere it seemed. It’s okay but a bit run-of-the-mill as well.

Dark interior, lots of knickknacks and Christmas decorations still on the ceiling in July! Tour de France on TV and projection. Untappd verified, tap menu is a funny mix meant to go wide, Cornet but also Moersleutel, Vault City but also Peroni, Kasteel Rouge, it’s a bit funny. It has a craft beer for the masses feel to it. Okay prices and atmosphere, could be a bit more distinct but not a bad place.
