Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours clear yellow with a lasting fluffy white head. The aroma is fresh, green, herbal, sappy pine, citrus jelly, grapefruit, candied peel and pomelo. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, sappy, resinous, pithy, zesty, bitter citrus peel, lemon tine, pomelo, piney, herbal, peppery spice and a nip of booze with a drying, zesty finale. Medium body and moderate, fluffy carbonation. Punchy bitterness and commands attention. Nice one.

25cl can from Westhill Service Station. It pours crystal clear yellow with a frothy white head. The aroma is sweet upfront, doughy white bread, sunblest, corn muffin, toasty grains, biscuit and custard. The taste is crisp, dry, bitter - sweet, toasty grains, sweet doughy white bread, custard cream biscuits, grass and damp leaves with a shorty, toasty grain finish. Average body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Sits on the sweet side for the likes of me. Drinks fine though.

Can direct from Futtle. It pours sever so sightly hazy yellow - blonde with a small, fluffy white head. The aroma is soft, freshly baked
d bread, doughy, cereal, toasty grains, touch of lemon-lime, white grape skin, gooseberry, must, sherbet, hay and barnyard. The taste is crisp, dry, snappy, touch of pucker, lemon-lime, lemon balm, fleeting sherbet, gooseberry, white grape skin, some sweet biscuit, doughy white bread, toasty grains and muted funk with a firm, dry finish. Average body and fine+ prickly carbonation. A very futtle take on a lager. Classic lager base still but with some zingy fruit and dull funk. Super moreish and chuggable.

Cask at Queen Vic, Aberdeen. It pours clear dark ruby - blacm with a thick, fluffy tan head. The aroma is earthy roast, toasty, burnt toast, dark roast, umami, salty liquorice, touch of dried/dark fruits and a touch of chocolate. The taste is firmly dry, bitter, charred vibes, dark roast, some umami, liquorice, burnt toast, cacao and some toasty spice with a drying, bitter roasted finish. Light+ body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Plenty for flavour for the abv. Commands attention. Nice one.

25cl can from their mini mix pack. It poura darkest brown to black with a sturdy deep tan. The aroma is dark roasted, earthy, umami, liquorice allsorts, malt loaf, burnt toast and coffee grounds. The taste is dry roasted malt, touch of bitterness, dark, charry, cacao nibs, coffee grounds, liquorice, umami and malt loaf with a dark, toasty finish. Average body and carbonation. Not much depth, but approachable stuff.

Can from Brewdog's webshop. It pours cloudy golden - yellow with a bubbly white head. The aroma is fresh, bright, juicy, tropical, mango, peaches & cream, orange squash, pic n mix, touch green and weedy. The taste is smooth, bitter - sweet, green, weedy, pine, quite juicy and tropical, peaches & cream, orange peel, waxy rind, campari, touch of alcohol and floury bread with a drying, orange rind finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Decent number.

Can from Westhill Service Station. It pours oily jet black with a small frothy light brown head. The aroma is super jammy, bright raspberry, jelly, victoria sponge cake, toasty coconut, oily, vanilla, toffee, warming whiskey, rue soaked oak, some chocolate and jammy wagon wheels. The taste is slick, oily, sweet and tangy, fresh raspberries, juicy, jammy, chocolate, coconut, vanilla, heavy, oily, jammy wagon wheel, chocolate bourbons, caramel, mars bar, tunnocks teacakes, warming booze, spicy rye whiskey and whiskey soaked oak with a dry roasty and warming finale. Fulsome body, fine prickly carbonation. Flavourful, but not sure the balance is quite there. Fun nonetheless.
