A- Dark brown color, opaque liquid, light brown head.
A- Roasty, oak, cocoa powder, grape, red wine.
F- Cocoa, dry, oak, roasty, faint bitterness, tannic.
T- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, tannic finish.
O- Not as complex as it probably should have been. Pretty dry and tannic. The wine barrel doesn't add much flavor as much as it does to impact the palate. The bourbon barrel is almost non-existent. A decent stout, albeit perhaps a bit thin on the body. This should have a lot more complexity. I think of Smuttynose The Stallion when I think of red wine barrel stouts and this definitely didn't hit that mark.

A- Dark brown color, opaque liquid, minimal head.
A- Dark chocolate, black coffee.
F- Dark chocolate, hot fudge sauce, latte, slightly roasty, slightly sweet, mild oak barrel, faint bitterness.
T- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish.
O- Loads of chocolate. More than coffee or barrel. Very tasty but not the profile I anticipated. Solid.
A- Reddish purple color, clear liquid, no head.
A- City water, manure, rotten apple.
F- Mild berry, apple skins, skunky.
T- Light body, thin texture, average carbonation, astringent finish.
O- Terrible, off balanced and rotten tasting, this was just not good at all.
A- Dark reddish brown color, opaque liquid, no head.
A- Faint maple, sweet malt, vanilla, mild wood barrel.
F- Prune, wood, caramel, vanilla, sweet malt, subtle oak, mild bourbon, faint stone fruit.
T- Full body, slightly warming texture, average carbonation, balanced finish.
O- Straight Jacket is straight forward. The kind of beer that just makes me smile and be happy after I take a sip. Well rounded, no frills, all class barleywine.
A- Yellow color, cloudy liquid, white head.
A- Mango, sweet, overripe fruit.
F- Mango, sweet, slightly sugary, mildly tart.
T- Light body, average texture, average carbonation, sweet finish.
O- Loads of mango flavor, almost like a mango lassi soda or something. Had it after the State Fair so it made sense. The cotton candy really does nothing but add sweetness. Not as cloying as I thought it might be but certainly a sweet beer.
A- Orange color, cloudy liquid, minimal head.
A- Mild funk, citrus, sour plum.
F- Lemon, funk, subtle hay, sour plum, slightly acidic.
T- Light body, prickly texture, high carbonation, tangy finish.
O- Lots of sour plum backed up by some oak funk but all pretty subdued. A bit tart on the very end but overall light,
A- Burnt orange color, clear liquid, minimal white head.
A- Toffee, golden raisins, fruit cake, honey, cognac.
F- Golden raisins, burnt caramel, toffee, cognac, almond cake, honey.
T- Medium body, slightly thin texture, average carbonation, complex finish.
O- Really tasty. Lighter on the palate than I anticipated.
A- Golden orange color, hazy liquid, white head.
A- Clove, wheat, banana, faint lemon.
F- Banana, clove, wheat, yeasty.
T- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, yeasty finish.
O- A very good rep of the style. Well balanced and all the right flavors. This was great.
