From tap @ the source. Head is big, tan, good retention. Colour is dark, clear. Aroma is dark malts, bready, light hoppy, caramel touch. Taste is medium malty base, roasted tones, coffee, dark chocolate, soft carbonation, nice balanced bitterness, dry on the palate, very good, fully enjoyed.

Bottle. Malty aroma, roasty notes, chocolate, light coffee. Tastes the same as aroma, light to medium bitter, only extra light sweet notes. Medium body, malty bitter finish. Good.

0.4 l on tap at the brewpub. Black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, light beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty aroma of dark chocolate, some coffee and hints of toasted nuts. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, fairly roasty, malty and a little fruity taste of lots of coffee, dark chocolate, some licorice and a touch of dark fruits, followed by a short, quite roasty-bitter, earthy-dry finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice one, would be a Schwarzbier in Germany.

Tap at the brewery. Cleanly fermented rich and roasty tmavy, roast, coffeeish but very clean and easy drinking. Balanced sweetness with assertive roasty bitterness. Very good.

From tank at brewpub. Dark brown color with medium beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, light caramel. Taste, roasted malt, dark chocolate, nuts, vanilla, hops. Very good.
