Our “San Diego Pale Ale.” Hop-driven from two key hops: citrus and pine from the wonderful and classic American Cascade, paired perfectly with the bright fruit and dankness of Australian Galaxy. With moderate bitterness and just enough malt backbone to elevate the hops, this Pale Ale is super-refreshing.

When it came to creating Ripper, we drew inspiration from the coastal surf cultures of SoCal and Oz. Sourcing classic Cascade from the Pacific Northwest and Australian Galaxy hops from…yes…Australia, we made a beer both lovers of frothy peaks and hoppy green buds will be stoked about. At the same time, we stayed true to our San Diego roots by pushing the hop boundaries of this style. While some might think it lingers on an edge far closer to an IPA, with all the dry-hop flavor and aroma, it’s actually right in line with the current-day interpretation of a West Coast pale. Ours just so happens to have an Aussie accent that’s cascading with a juicy amount of grapefruit and passion fruit hoppiness. So veg out or venture out. Either way, rip one open and taste this awesome golden nectar!

(Keg at Ølhus Stockholm, 20170830) The beer poured pale mahogany coloured and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had grass, nettles and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were grass, spiciness, herbalness, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was herbal and bitter. A pleasant hoppy brew with complex hoppiness.

355ml can. Pours a slightly hazy copper-orange with a medium, frothy, long lasting, off-white head that leaves plenty of lace. Sweet fruity aroma of peach, grapefruit, passion fruit, pine needles and grass with biscuit malt in the background. Sweet fruity flavour of biscuit malt, grapefruit, lemon, peach, passion fruit and pine needles with a crisp, dry, hoppy, mildly bitter grass finish. Light to medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. A tasty and enjoyable APA.

Can. Hazy copper orange color with a lingering beige head. Strong aroma of citrus and tropical fruits, a little dank hoppiness. Sweet and fresh. Tastes sweet up front with lots of fruity and citrus hops before a lingering husky bitter end. Some dank hops and bready malt. Lingering bitters and Im picking up on just a little bit of the abv.

Golden with a white head - Citrus hop aroma - Malt body to support a hop profile that has citrus and bitterness - The citrus flavour with bitterness goes into the finish - This was good

Can. Aroma of grapefruit, citrus, caramel and orange. Taste has bitter orange, pine, caramel, harsh grapefruit and a dry bitter finish. A sipper indeed, damn this is bitter.
