Our “San Diego Pale Ale.” Hop-driven from two key hops: citrus and pine from the wonderful and classic American Cascade, paired perfectly with the bright fruit and dankness of Australian Galaxy. With moderate bitterness and just enough malt backbone to elevate the hops, this Pale Ale is super-refreshing.

When it came to creating Ripper, we drew inspiration from the coastal surf cultures of SoCal and Oz. Sourcing classic Cascade from the Pacific Northwest and Australian Galaxy hops from…yes…Australia, we made a beer both lovers of frothy peaks and hoppy green buds will be stoked about. At the same time, we stayed true to our San Diego roots by pushing the hop boundaries of this style. While some might think it lingers on an edge far closer to an IPA, with all the dry-hop flavor and aroma, it’s actually right in line with the current-day interpretation of a West Coast pale. Ours just so happens to have an Aussie accent that’s cascading with a juicy amount of grapefruit and passion fruit hoppiness. So veg out or venture out. Either way, rip one open and taste this awesome golden nectar!

Draught @ Fox & Hounds, Sønderborg. Pourd cloudy amber with stable off-white head. Clear aroma of hops and citrus, with fruity and estery notes. Bitter taste of hops and citrus, with round, sweetish notes of fruit and malt. Bitter aftertaste with grassy and fruity hints. Decent.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a bronze color with a medium sized creamy white head that left excellent lacing. The aroma was sweetish and tangy with fruity hops. The flavor was bitter, tart and citric with a dry perfumey presence. Medium length finish. Medium body. Meh.

Clear, golden-amber colored, medium white frothy head, OK lasting. Aroma is of malt, some light caramel, medium- fruity and citrus hops. Taste is medium sweet malt, some caramel, medium- fruity and citrus hoppiness, medium bitterness, dry finish. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bit oily. Not aromatic enough to blow you away but decent if not too cold. (can, from Berlin brewery)

Vom Fass (Brewed at Escondido/USA) im Stone Brewing Berlin 2017-06 getrunken.

Purchased at Bottles and Cans in Chicago, IL; enjoyed on a fantastic Memorial Day weekend at home sitting out on my back porch, perfect weather. Appearance is moderate amber with a robust billowy white head. Aroma of light malt, slightly bready, but smells good. Taste is very nice, not too bitter, more malty than hoppy. Would have again.

Perfectly named. A ripping beer with some unusual aromas for a pale ale - toffee, burnt caramel, sea salt, peach, honey and grapefruit. The caramel and salt give it backbone in the mouth and the grapefruit runs right down the back of your throat. Fantastic.
