A strong Scotch Ale. Big rich malt flavors reminiscent of dark caramel, fig jam and hints of smoke

Smell-weak malt, hops, bitter tones, faint caramel, faint yeast.
Foam-thin, malt, alcohol, warming, bitter tones. Head is large, light brown in color. Sticks.
Appearance- somewhat nice can, simple, but I like it. Clear dark red-brown color. Some active carbonation.

Taste - weak malt, hops, bitter tones, some caramel, faint sweetness, and alcohol warmth. Bit boozy, not bad, but would not seek again.

Brewery draught, 11/24/23. Clear dark amber. Beige head to ring. Lotta hard crystal malt and caramelized, candy-like sugar and yet it's not too sweet. Quite dry, toasty, bit more crystal malt than I'm looking for with toasted astringency. Vanilla, crystal malt, pepper. Eh, it's dry and for that I appreciate it. Reasonable for the style.

Can (no can date) pour from The Beer Store, Nashua (10% ABV on the can). It's a murky dark brown-mahogany with tons of sparkle, finger-width tan head with fair retention and light lacing. Aroma is caramel, brown sugar and stronger tart fruit and yeast. Taste mirrors aroma though in better balance. Mouthfeel is full bodied with thick, smooth texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, a saison-ish scotch ale--weird!--and isn't a great mix for me.

Draft at the source. Clear deep amber maroon color off white head. Aroma of light smoke, burnt caramel, cocoa. Taste is rich malty burnt caramel on burnt toast. Very tasty

4 oz. sample at the source. Pours a dark mahogany with white head. Nice robust aroma of caramel, toffee, butterscotch, and plenty of dark fruits.
Taste is very complex. Layered malts. Flavors of caramel, toffee, figs, nuts, raisins, maple syrup, and just the essence of smoke. Alcohol is mostly hidden. True to style. Definitely finely crafted.
