A deep dark stout with a very thin mocha head. In aroma, smooth chocolate with coffee grind and grassy hops. In mouth, a nice bitter chocolate with coffee grind, musty character, light grassy hops, light mineral notes, very nice and rich. On tap at brewery.

Bottle from Acton Wine and Spirits. Pours a solid dark brown with faint ruby at the edges and decent sized bubbly tan head that dissipates rather quickly. Chocolate and light roast on the nose with sweet vanilla notes and a bit of light fruit. The flavor is creamy rich milk chocolate with bits of vanilla and some light roast and earth. Pretty decent drinker.

Dark brown to black. 1 finger coffee colored head. Smells like charcoal, wheat and chocolate tootsie roll. Certainly has a licorice taste with a creamy mouthfeel. A little sweetness at the finish.

This was poured into a nonic pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown color ranging close to a black color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within less than about twenty seconds. Lacing was barely there.
The smell starts off with a luscious amount of roasted coffee beans flowing into sweet milk and dark chocolate. Dark fruits and a light toffee back up the aroma nicely.
The taste was a nice balance between the sweet dark fruits and chocolate leading into the coffee beans, bitter yet maintaining a nice roastiness. Toffee fades into the background.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. Oatmeal ends up playing more of a part in the feel as I like how smooth it rolls over my tongue.
Overall, for an oatmeal stout bringing in nice touches of an English style, it works for me. I’d have this again.

Draft @ the brewery. Pitch black color, thin white head. Aroma is bunrt oatmeal flakes, coffee grounds and light chocolate. The flavor is mostly the same with a slightly full body with an ashy texture. Overall pretty run of the mill bit no flaws and if you want a stout under 7% this is pretty sessionable.
