From the German word for “Bright”, our golden lager displays a floral hop aroma with a bready malt balance. Traditional in style, Helles is brewed with Pilsner Malt to produce a dry, snappy finish while Perle and Tettnanger hops create a spicy, herbal hop aroma. The result is an incredibly clean, yet complex, lager.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run as simple Helles. Clear gold, maybe a hint of haze. White frothy head, fair retention. Aroma of snappy herbal hops, a bit of lemon, pale bready malt. Taste is bready malt, almond-like nuts, floral hops. Medium bodied, a bit sweet. Solid.

Decidedly fecal and earthy bean and hay nose. Clear yellow, greenish hue, medium head with fair retention. Cleaner hay and bean notes on the palate. Light body, moderate carbonation.

Enjoyed on Easter 2017 weekend at the brewery. Pours a very slight hazed light-golden colour with a small head that disappears quickly, leaving not much. Very mild bread malt aromas with light hops, kind of pilsner-like. Same for taste, but a tad more normal in strength. A very light Helles, available year-round and probably their most normal swill.

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from VT. Pours crystal clear yellow, lightly effervescent, with a creamy, white head. Crisp pale biscuits in the nose, light cereal, hay, white bread. Light sweet flavour, more fresh biscuits, straw, low bitterness. Light bodied with average carbonation. Well balanced finish, with fine husky and grassy bitterness, more hay, biscuits, pizza crust. Quite excellent overall.
