Helles Golden Lager

From the German word for “Bright”, our golden lager displays a floral hop aroma with a bready malt balance. Traditional in style, Helles is brewed with Pilsner Malt to produce a dry, snappy finish while Perle and Tettnanger hops create a spicy, herbal hop aroma. The result is an incredibly clean, yet complex, lager.

Pours pale yellow into a shaker. Bright white head with little retention recedes to mottle surface. Corn and sourdough aromas. Stale malt and sourdough upfront turning to sweet caramel and adjunct in the medium length finish.

Best by date of 10/03/15.
This was poured into a pilsener glass.
The appearance was a transparent golden yellow color with carbonation rising at a decent pace. A one finger white foamy head accompanied the top of the beer and gently dissipated leaving some light stringy and clingy lacing.
The smell started off with a sweet biscuit ordeal and blended into some light sweet corn.
The taste was mainly sweet and added a light crisp bready setting leading into a refined gentle biscuity aftertaste and having no finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a pretty good sessionability about it. Carbonation comes across fairly smooth leading to an all around smooth feel over my tongue.
Overall, I say as a Munich Helles lager, it works. It would probably be a great food beer.
