Very dark (33+ SRM) with a beige head, this milk stout is characterized by the flavors of chocolate, soft coffee roast and marshmallow - all derived from the grain bill, lactose and late addition of whole bean coffee.

Can to nonic pint glass.
Appearance: dark brown/dark maroon close to black color with a two finger eggshell white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some messy lace
Aroma: milk chocolate and dark chocolate up front, smooth dark malts, semi-roasty, some sweet cream underneath and an even lighter touch of coffee roast
Flavor: mostly sweet throughout with a slight touch of roast trying to help balance; good aftertaste of sweet chocolates
Texture: light to medium bodied, some sessionability in it, creamy smooth along tongue; finishes smooth and chocolatey with a touch of dryness
Overall: nicely done milk/sweet stout worthy of coming back to.

Can (3/1/24) pour from Andover Classic Wines. Opaque dark brown (almost black) with nice sparkle, thin head with poor retention and no lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malt and bittersweet coffee w/lactose. Taste follows aroma. Smooth, silky texture, average carbonation and finish as taste. Good strength and delivers everything a coffee milk stout should.

Pours dark coffee into an English pint. Mocha head with excellent retention recedes leaving trailing spiders. Date and coffee aromas. Dry with sweet hazlenut and coffee upfront turning to fig and date before the medium length creamy chocolate and soy finish.

Can from the Packie Pours a solid dark brown with a hint of garnet and a huge frothy tan head that takes forever to recede. Rich bready caramel and chocolate with a fair bit of creamed coffee. The coffee doesn't overpower the beer thankfully, its quite well done!

$4.20 pint can, WW. Pours hazy dark brown with a soft tan head. Chocolate, smoke, coffee aroma. Flavor is creamy chocolate and coffee, definitely slightly sweet. Roasted malt, light metallic notes. Good.

Draught at the brewery, 3/23/18.
Dark-to-medium mahogany, seemingly clear with a light tan head atop showing strong retention.
Smells lightly lactic, vinous and with a hint of chocolatey-peanuty roast. No alcohol or flaw and neither overly fudgey or heavy on the ash/char roast character.
Dry in the mouth, much moreso than the nose would suggest, with light nutty notes and hints of succulent fudge. Stays dry, though, and gains light roast, mild fruitiness (plum, raisin, prune) and just a touch of lactose. Finishes earthy and chocolatey with light caramel and more fruit. Soft, malty texture, lightly sticky at points with low-to-moderate, engaging carbonation.

6 oz. draft at Schilling. Good aroma, roast, sugar, chocolate. The flavor is about what I expected. Earthy coffee with lactose sugar, light char and subtle chocolate. The body a medium, to perhaps a borderline full to dense mouthfeel. The texture is creamy and smooth over the tongue. Again, well made.
