With a cherry-rose color, our blueberry mead has a clean, honey-like aroma with berry notes. The medium body features subtle hints of blueberries and raspberries accompanied by a slight acidity, balancing the sweetness of honey for a delightful and fresh wine.

Bottle from Liquor World in Cambridge. $17. Eek.
Ommegang chalice. Full pour. No fear. Pretty, clear, still, purple/violet grape juice color.
Smells of blueberries, grape juice, & candles, with mild honey bringing up the rear. A little acidic & sour, it smells natural & inviting.
Taste is nice, earthy & tart blueberries upfront, with a incredibly waxy/vasoline-ish texture bringing up the rear. Lots of bubblegum. Drab honey flavor. Half sweet, more so tart, with lots of blueberry skin & watery concord grape. Simple, authentic, if mild flavor. The berry would probably come through better in a fuller, semi-sweet rendition, as they aren’t very potent at all unless dried or full of sugar. Or maybe they just skimped on the fruit some.
Very thin body, gentle alcohol. The wax doesn’t bring in many off flavors, but it seems to coat/laminate my tongue, which isn’t nice. It drinks incredibly easy if you don’t mind the waxy buildup.
Disappointing for the price? Sure. Not terrible though.

A burgundy red mead with a light clover honey aroma, with light blueberry notes. In mouth, nice smooth honey with light blueberry mash, a bit of astringency, corky notes. Tasted April 8th, bottle gift from Billy B.
