Exclusive beer. Why?
For one it's barrel aged, although at Alvinne that’s not really that suprising. What does make it exceptional is that the Schaarbeekse krieken (cherries) are handpicked by Glenn (20 kg), the raspberries are harvested by students of the Special Ed school Glenn teaches at (10 kg). This freshly harvested fruit is then added straight to the oak barrels to macerate for a couple of months.
Cuvée Sofie Kriek Framboos was aged on a Burgundy barrel (Gevrey-Chambertin). The beer aged for 7 months, the Schaarbeekse Kriek were added end of july, the raspberries during september. Cuvée Sofie Kriek Framboos 2016.

Pours unclear amberred. Small white head. Smell is intense, fruity, sharp acidity . Taste is full, oak, bourgogne, clear raspberry funk. Mild cherry tones. Really intense on the fruitstones. Really nice, but I prefered batch 1

Bottle courtesy of Maakun, thanks. Hazy red with thin greyish ring head. Big sweet raspberry and strawberry jam, then vinagrous sour cherries and grapes, cherry stones, sour grapes, unripe peach, apricot, red wine tannins and light woodglue, almonds and cinnamon. Moderate sweet and strong sour. Over medium body and low carbonation. --- Beer merged from original tick of Cuvée Sofie Kriek Framboos 2016 on 25 Dec 2017 at 22:55 - Score: 8. Bottle shared. Almost clear very dark pink with very small bubbly off white head. Lots of sour cherries, light red wine, fresh raspberries, light lactic notes, soft dusty herbs, sweet cherries, light balsamico, oily dried stone fruits. Quite sour and medium sweet with soft bitter finish. Medium bodied with a bit oily feel. Very very good bad complex. Maybe a tad too much lactic and balsamico sourness, but that’s just nitpicking with such a lovely aroma.
