Exclusive beer. Why?
For one it's barrel aged, although at Alvinne that’s not really that suprising. What does make it exceptional is that the Schaarbeekse krieken (cherries) are handpicked by Glenn (20 kg), the raspberries are harvested by students of the Special Ed school Glenn teaches at (10 kg). This freshly harvested fruit is then added straight to the oak barrels to macerate for a couple of months.
Cuvée Sofie Kriek Framboos was aged on a Burgundy barrel (Gevrey-Chambertin). The beer aged for 7 months, the Schaarbeekse Kriek were added end of july, the raspberries during september. Cuvée Sofie Kriek Framboos 2016.

Bottle. Color: Orange red, off- white head. Aroma: Raspberry, red fruit. Taste: Vinuous, moderate sweet and medium to over medium sour, raspberry and sour cherries, lime and notes of wood. A bit tart but very nice balanced. Long lasting sour cherry fruity finish. Under average carbonation. Another very nice one from Alvinne.

Bottle, 2017 version, courtesy of SinH4. Pours unclear red. Aroma is cherries, cherry stone, light funk, dust, herbs, acetone. Body is medium, lightly carbonated, strong cherries, little stone, fruity. Sour and sweet, but all balanced. Still some acetone, but much less extreme than the 8% Cuvee Sofie. Good!
