Bottle from The Star & Garter, Bromley. Nose is caramel, dark chocolate, coffee, raisin, black treacle. Taste is dark chocolate, liquorice toffee, nuts, more black treacle. Dry, boozy sweet with a light bitter edge. It's ok but the aftertaste needs to be a lot smoother.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, toffee, caramel, smoky, taste is sweet toffee, chocolate, caramel, treacle, bit harsh in the finish. 8/8/8/7/7.5

Bottle at CBJ, thanks to Cloin. Clear deep brown beer, small tan head. Airy palate, light and semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Mellow dark chocolate malts, a mild smoke. Barrel aged ripe fruits. Airy and semi dry finish. Not bad, lacks a central core for me.
