From the brewer: "A much anticipated release, with some really entertaining PR building up to it. A delicious blend of our (Totality) Imperial Stout and (Summit) Barleywine, barrel aged for over 100 days, and then infused with some locally roasted coffee. It pours dark brown wih a tan head, and has a nice dark roast coffee aroma complimented with hints of caramel. The taste is smooth dark roast coffee, strong bourbon oak, toffee, and vanilla with bitter notes and alcohol warmth coming through on the finish."

650ml bottle. Quasi black colour with late awakening, thick, creamy, moderately lasting and lacing, beige head. Very nice, roasty, coffee aroma, rather complex notes of coffee, mocha, white coffee, roasted coffee beans, all with sweet-ish, chocolately and cocoa aspects, oaky overtones, widely disguised caramel malty and citrusy hoppy background with a touch of orange, orange zest. Taste is slightly dry, minimally bitter roasty and slightly sweet, dark malty aroma, notes of coffee, roasted coffee beans, a touch of white coffee, cocoa and dark chocolate, some caramel malt, a citrusy hoppy touch with hints of orange, mandarine, orange zest, orange flavoured chocolate, minimally dry, oaky overtones; lingering and still intense coffee finish. Full body, oily to viscous, but untroublesome, smooth-running texture, creamy, smooth, soft, silky, minimally sticky palate. Excellent coffee notes, splendid mouthfeel, highdrinkability. Very good.

Bottle shared at kermis's, thanks Chris. Pours dark brown, almost black pour with off white foam. Nice creamy soft nose, some roast there bit also a bit vinious, even creamy a bit. Coffee coming out more in the taste. Taste is creamy, hint of roastiness, pretty smooth and has some light berries in the background. Really well balanced and totally enjoyable.

Reddish tinted deep dark brown beer with a medium to good tan-cream head, lacerings. Coffee², mocha, Haagse Hopjes, sweetish smelling and vey roasted, bonfire. Cold, seriously sweetened coffee, again coffee sweets as Hopjes, caramel. Bit of vanilla, rather sweet and not very powerfully intense flavours. Gradually, a typical coffeedrab bitterness builds up. Good carbonation. Feels strangely light for a 12% strong ale; impression of being only medium bodied. Very light alcoholwarming. Bit disappointing. Le ramage ne vaut pas vraiment le plumage.

Bottle shared at deanso’s. Very dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Notes of milk chocolate, rye bourbon/whiskey, honey, milk coffee, dark cherries. Not as bitter as the normal version, and with just a hint of extra coffee (wouldn’t have noticed it if it wasn’t on the label).
