Bottle @ Moeder Lambic Original. Pours clear golden with a small white head. Aromas of citrus, white grapes, floral notes, peach, nutty vin jaune, ripe oranges. Taste has lots of vin jaune up front, nutty, caramel, oranges, citrus, red apples, vinous finish.

Bottle at BXLBeerfest Cantillon tasting, 6% ABV. Pours hazy orange. Aroma is fruity, vinous, oak. Later when it warms up the aroma is straight up curry! Flavor is sour, bitter, hint of sweetness, brettm oak, vinous. Feels really complex. Overall: great.

From bottle at BXL Beer Fest, Cantillon Tasting. Orange, medium hazy body, with a tiny, yellowish head. Amazing, unique aroma of sherry, sweet-spicy dessert wine, juicy pale grapes, curry, sweet resin, wood, subtle cheese. Tastes also beautiful, while a bit different, with some honey, Retsina. Medium, a bit oily mouthfeel, with a moderate carbonation. Finishes medium dry, a bit wooden, tannic, with juicy grapes, dessert wine, resin, some peppery spices. Wow!! Especially the nose is unbelievable, one of the most unique and complex smells I've ever had! Drinks so delicious and different, a bit like a Sherry, also somehow like a Retsina, with an interesting curry note in the nose and all based on a moderate Lambic twist, giving this an endless depth. Simply fantastic, one of the best things I ever drank! I'll propably never get to drink this again, so I have to track down this crazy delicious wine! Score: 10 / 4 / 9 / 4 / 19

Bottle pour at Quintessence 2018. Hazy deep yellow with a frothy offwhite head. Lovely gueuze nose with just the right amount of intriguing wine character. Almost the noble rot grape kind. More funk than I'd expect from Cantillon which I love. Balanced sour and fruity taste with a hint of residual fruity sweetness still lingering. Tart and slightly dry mouthfeel with balanced mellow carbonation. Absolutely lovely! Need to search out this wine thingy they've used.

Quintessence. Unclear golden. Funk, white wine barrels, nuts. Medium, quite acidic but not too much. Low wine flavours, but still a good balance. A tad too acidic. Very good.

(Bottle sample @ Quintessence 2018, Cantillon, May 1/18) Pours a somewhat hazy gold with a fine white head. Notes of grape must, nutty dessert wine, sour pit fruit, lemon reduction, fresh hay, light herbs, cheesy touches, oak, moderate barnyard, soft earth, light to moderate turmeric as it airs out, nutty oxidation/wood into the finish. Medium-bodied with effervescent carb and even a little minerality. More balanced and less overt than Lambic Jaune, integrating the lovely vin jaune character into more of a typical gueuze framework where the zippy lemon works very nicely. Beautiful beer, one of Cantillon's finest developing experiments.
