2016 Bottle at the Cantillon Brewery, 18th April 2024. Pours an off clear orange. Aroma is wood, barrel, liquor, musty, complex. Taste is intense, musty, wood, liquor, tart, you can taste the age. It’s lovely and mellow, classic stuff

750mL bottle, pours a bright golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out plenty of barnyard funk, tangy vinous notes, and a touch of leather. Flavour is tangy, with plenty of wine tang, gentle funk, leather, and some citrus. Very tangy, citrusy; unusual wine barrel character. Far from my favourite Cantillon, but this is very nice of course.

(Bottle, Cantillon Brewery, Brussels, 21 Oct 2022) Deep golden colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, sourish nose with sour grapes, white wine, vinegar, horse stable and barnyard. Fruity, tart taste with notes of green apples, grapes, white wine, oak wood, barnyard, vinegar and a dry and tart finish. Medium body, dry. Solid and well made, with a good wine barrel character and a harmonious tartness. Excellent!
