750mL capped bottle. Bottled Sept, 2017, so a little less than a year old. Purchased for $10 at Max's, so it was a deal. Poured into a fancy stem La Trappe goblet. Pour isn't very heady. Dark brown cola looking beer. Aroma is firstly dominated by a thinning alcohol essence. Underneath that I could pick out a malty Belgian strong ale (sweet plums). But smells thin. Body is lighter than I want and the flavor has the similar thinned out by a strong alcohol essence plummy Belgian waffle. Its too easy to drink for 10% but also alcohol rich. I don't mind it a lot but would now like to try the unbarreled version.
