Hickory Stick Stout is a complex beauty. Rich, flavorful, and aromatic but not overly heavy. Roasted black and chocolate malts give this beer its dark color and robust flavors of coffee and dark chocolate. Pale and crystal malts impart a mild sweetness and caramel flavor to balance theintense roasted malts.

Sampled at Borefts 2019. Black with dark beige head. Dry roasted malts, soft wood, sticks, light caramel, coffee, vanilla, dry earthy and leafy. Medium sweet, solide medium bitter. Medium bodied with slijk dry feel.

355ml bottle. Opaque, darkest brown colour with slightly late awakeing, average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, moderately lacing, beige head. Roasty, chocolately dark malty and grassy hoppy aroma, notes of dark chocolate, coffee, cocoa, whiffs of lemon and lime, a touch of green onion. Taste is bitter, metallic, roasty dark malty and slightly citrusy, grassy hoppy, notes of dark chocolate, hints of cocoa and cofee, lemon zest, lime; bitter, metallic and minimally mineral, chalky finish.

Clear dark brown to black beer, creamy dense beige head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very malty, grains, hay, cow fodder, soft roast, unimpressive. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: soft roast, malty, very bitter, dry, bit sourish, nice and malty.

Typische Optik. Im Trunk schön röstig, Schokokaffee, dabei recht süffig. Sehr angenehm lecker, Kastenstout.

Sampled from a bottle this beer poured a black color with a large fluffy brown head that lingered and left good lacing. The aroma was roasty and dry with malt, molasses, wood and burnt barley. The flavor was dry and roasty with wood, smoke and floral hops. Long finish with lingering smoke. Medium body.

Bottle from Sam's Quik Shop. Pours dark brown with a large frothy head. Aroma is chocolate, roasted malt, light coffee. Flavor is coffee, roasted malt, soap, minor citrus?, charred chocolate.

Draft @ Beer Temple. Dark, but clear color, not quite black/opaque. Dense beige head with good lacing. Aroma's: roasted, sweetish. Flavor is light sweet, roasted. Light bodied. Finishes with roast, licorice, moderate bitter.
