Kettle Soured Ale with a Dry Hop Burst
The name “Larry’s Latest” is a nod to the spirit of innovation and experimentation that Larry started in 1985 and continues within the brewery to this day. Our latest sour recipe has a refreshingly bright, citrusy tartness combined with pungent tropical aromas.

Bottle. Bell's attempt at a sour beer. Better than most still not good. I just don't get sour beers.

Crisp, very clear golden coloured body with a very small, single centimetre tall pure white head that fades relatively quickly. Aroma of wheat, yeast, funk, lactobilly notes with a lot of grasses and dry hay along with some soft fruits that show a touch of guava and papaya with perhaps some faint berry notes. Light-bodied; Good tart notes from the funky yeast up front which shows the lactobilly flavours, some grain, a hint of floral and perfumey hops with a lot more of the fruity flavours with the guava and stone fruit notes coming through, all with a fresh and dry quality at the end. Aftertaste shows the hay, lactobilly notes, yeast, funk and light tart fruit flavours, but this is fairly easy-drinking, void of character and complexity and pungency, but is very smooth and soft that makes this decent as a beer during the summertime! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle, purchased from Shopper's Food Warehouse (since closed) on 12-September-2018 for US$9,99/six pack in Alexandria, Virginia sampled at home in Washington on 30-March-2020.

Poured up on tap at Tipsy Cactus where it exhibits a near clear deep gold body that supports an off white head of foam. The aroma offers up some grassiness, grapefruit, tangerine and mild floral hops. The taste delivers lemon, lime, grapefruit, blackberry and then bitter floral hops. It maintains a moderate level of hop bitterness with only mild hop flavor. Nice and easy drinking.

Bottle: Dark yellow gold with an off-white head. Citrus, vinegar aroma. Taste is slightly lactic, lemon, grain malt. Light, with a fair bit of acidity. Pretty good.

At a tasting, small stable thick bubbly head, light hazy deepish yellow color, aroma of vinegar with a hint of mustard and fruit, aroma of fruit vinegar with a hint of metal and some maltiness in the back, bittery hint. Nice.

12oz bottle. Slightly hazy gold-tan body. Frothy white head. A little more bitterness than I anticipated. Pleasant sour tones . Pretty well balanced, true to style. Drinks a lot more like beer than alcopop, which earns it a bonus palate point from me. Good,
