Hafren is a 4% roasted chestnut coloured traditional bitter with an inviting floral, earthy notes and a very creamy texture, due to brewing temperature and added wheat.
The initial tastes are of think creamy caramel thanks to the added crystal and pale malts, with a smooth but bitter after taste from the locally grown British strain of Hops.
Hafren rates 24 of the bitterness table.

Cask handpump at The Plough,, Worcester, Saturday 7th May 2016 Pours classic copper colour, excellent clarity with a white head. Some caramel and fruit on the nose, this is replicated in the mouth. Lacks hops, lacks bitterness, but for a straightforward solid bitter it’s nice. A6 A5 T6 P3 Ov12 3.2

Cask-conditioned, on gravity, at Gloucester Beer Festival, 22/4/2016. Amber in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Aroma of sweet hedgerow fruit and a touch of earthy malt. Flavour was much of the same, with cereal malts to the fore, leading to a decent, bitter, finish. Ok.
