Our Original Best Bitter is crafted with a grist of Maris Otter and Crystal Malts, balanced with Celeia and East Kent Goldings Hops to give a rich, traditional, fruit-flavoured ale. What a corker!

This beer packs a powerful punch with a lingering, moorish flavour that is subtle and seductive, an infusion of malt and apricot flavours.

Handpull cask at the Alexandra Arms, Cambridge. Chestnut/amber. Clear with a small uniform film of sandy beige head. Woody oak smell with slight hints of cranberry. Pleasant sweet taste with an ensuing resinous bitterness. Clean dry finish. Some strawberry and malt vinegar notes in the aftertaste. Full slick body. Improves as I drink, but still fairly unexciting.
