GAMMADELUXE was brewed in collaboration with our good friends at Jester King Brewery in Austin, Texas. We wanted to share knowledge and techniques that we had acquired from Henry of Monkish Brewing Co. and with that we brewed this sour Monkish inspired IPA. This IPA pours a beautiful bright yellow with just the right amount of haze. An aroma of funky fruit tannins in the nose. Packed full of seven different hop varieties giving notes of grapefruit, light Brett characteristics, a tannin dryness, and a touch of pineapple.

Pulled ever upward
As the dazzling blue becomes black
And as light fades away

A thousand thousand diamonds
Pinwheel and fire

Dissolving into the darkness
Upward loses its meaning

Can there be a return?

Gammalux was
Our second collaboration with our dear friends at Jester King

GammaDeluxe is
Hoppy hazy sour IPA
Learned from my dear friends at Monkish
Taught to my dear friends at Jester King
Love, Respect, and Friendship

Cheers & Mahalo plenty!

Draught at Alibi Room, Vancouver
Murky dark blond colour, creamy head. Soft, undercarbonated, stale, the wild yeast dominates, and clashes with the bitterness; bitter citrus peel.
It doesn't seem to be at its peak, not very good.

Sampled on draft at Vintage Estate this beer poured a murky yellow color with a medium sized creamy white head that left great lacing. The aroma was perfume, mustiness and artificial lemon. The flavor was dry and chalky with strong perfume and brett. Long finish. Medium body.

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a glowing, hazy neon straw with a full two fingers of foam that lingers. Lemon zest forward nose, kabosu, musty hay and cobwebs. Lemoncello notes, but tart. Dry, lemon pith on the finish. Lingering dry cobwebs. Really refreshing.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/12/2017. Pours moderately hazy golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big lightly tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, red/green apple, mango, melon, guava, berry, white wine, citrus peel/rind, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, oak, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of pepper, pine, leathery/musty funk, oaken vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/funky yeast, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lightly tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, red/green apple, mango, melon, guava, berry, white wine, citrus peel/rind, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, oak, wheat, cracker, and white bread; with lighter notes of pepper, pine, leathery/musty funk, oaken vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast/oak tannin spiciness, pine/herbal/grassy/citrus peel bitterness, and light tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart lemon, lime, grapefruit, tangerine, peach, pear, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, red/green apple, mango, melon, guava, berry, white wine, citrus peel/rind, hay, straw, herbal, floral, grass, oak, wheat, cracker, white bread, pepper, pine, light leather/funk/vanilla, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/funky/spicy yeast, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance; and zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from bitter/spiciness. Medium-plus carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky/tannic, and lightly acidic balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol for 7.5%. Overall this is an awesome sour farmhouse IPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops, fruity/funky/spicy yeast, oak barrel, and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/spicy/drying finish. Never overly bitter or tart either way. Great balance of hops and classic JP fruity/funky house Brett complexity; nice bready malt backbone and oak barrel presence, with no residual sweetness. A really enjoyable offering.
