AleSmith Decadence was originally brewed in 2005 to celebrate our first decade in business. Twelve years later, we proudly present our latest creation in the series, and imperial oatmeal stout. This malt forward brew features notes of chocolate, and roasted malt, balanced by the the toasted character of oatmeal. With a rich, full body and a creamy, luscious finish, this beer is meant to be savored now, or aged to be enjoyed later.

Bottle. Pours clear reddish black, medium creamy tan head, lasting with good lacing. Aroma is ash, cocoa earth, molasses. Flavor is light plus sweet, medium bitter, deep roasted malts. Full body. Good.

A black beer, a head is medium and beige. Aroma has salt liquorice, some chocolate and hint of alcohol. Taste is quite intensive, salt liquorice, bitterness ,some roastiness. Almost full bodied, quite smooth. Quite simplex, I expected more nuanced beer. Anyway, tasteful.

On tap at AleSmith, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out medium toasted malt, with some dried dark fruits, and a touch of oats. Flavour is very fruity, with lots of roasted malt, dark dried fruits, and some oats. Quite alcoholic and fruity - not your average impie stout. Fruity, boozy finish. Good stuff.

Bottle courtesy of Baz and Jude, cheers you two, picked up directly from AleSmith. Consumed at Builth Wells, Powys, Wednesday 30th May 2018 in the company of Jude, Baz, Isobel and Annasley. Pours very dark brown with a good sized cappuccino coloured head. Lots of cinder toffee on the nose, rich, smooth, burnt toffee, warmth from the alcohol, smooth with a little hop at end. Super beer. A8 A4 T9 P4 Ov17 4.3

Draft @ the brewery. Pours a black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with weak hints of licorice. Roasted malty spicy chocolate flavor. Has a roasted malty chocolate finish.
