Flare (yes, that’s how we are spelling it) is our gose that we have added citrus fruit to. This beer is slightly tart, a little salty, and has a nice balance from the fruit and spices. Ale brewed with orange and coriander.

500 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 10/7/2015. Pours lightly hazy deep golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with good retention, that reduces to a spotty lace cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of tart lemon, lime, green apple, orange, white grape, sea salt, coriander, pepper, wheat, cracker, bread dough, hay, straw, grass, light funk, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/spicy/acidic yeast, pale malt, and salt/spice notes; with good strength. Taste of tart lemon, lime, green apple, orange, white grape, sea salt, coriander, pepper, wheat, cracker, bread dough, hay, straw, light funk, and herbal/yeast earthiness. Light-moderate tartness and yeast spiciness after the finish; with lingering notes of lemon, lime, green apple, orange, grape, coriander, pepper, wheat, cracker, bread dough, and herbal/yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy/acidic yeast, pale malt, and salt/spice flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from acidity and carbonation after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very smooth, crisp, fairly acidic/saline, and lightly creamy/bready mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent gose style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy/acidic yeast, pale malt, and salt/spice flavors; and very smooth and crisp to drink with the lighter acidity. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Pours slightly hazy golden orange, large white head that dissipates leaving nice residual and lacing. Aroma is dusty, wheat, sea air, lemon. Flavor is light tart, hint of salt, wheat, lemon zest. Medium body, high carbonation. Standard gose, which is not bad in my book.
