Can courtesy of the Liquor Depot savvy markwise. It poured clear gold with weak 2 second head. The aroma is full up sweet esters and grains followed by a sense of floral hops. Yes, doesn’t smell too hateful. The taste is a mess of sweet fruity esters, grains, yeast and sort of harsh booze and then pretty much just water.

16oz can @Tampa Wkly Gathering @BT Thanks? to my friend? Markwise-pours a few white bubbles for a head and pale straw color. Aroma is mild musty. Taste is sweet corn/grain, musty. OK carbonation.

24 oz can. A lot like the Olde English HG800 I tried earlier, but more grainy, more watery, and it doesn’t have that unpleasant metallic flavor. This beer also has and retains a surprisingly good head. Again, I’m surprised this didn’t rank lower. I was expecting garbage and got merely refuse.

40 oz bottle from a gas station! Pale gold, a little foamy. Pretty clean aroma and flavor, surprisingly! Light and creamy body reminds me of Little Kings, otherwise essentially flavorless but for a slight corn graininess. Finish was rough, showing some alcohol and sharp graininess that came across as almost tart and unpleasant. Still far more drinkable than many malt liquors.

That Woodland ghetto market may have been Bob’s liquor where I got mine (about 3 blocks from my house). Ghetto’s probably on the opposite side of the ghetto market. Can’t be my neighborhood. Or possibly there is a rarified view taken by the denizens of the People’s Republic of Davis. Is this too much politics for this site? The aroma is a bit bready. Not getting any hop. The color is lightly brassy gold, and the head is vigorous but going rather fast. The body is thin to medium, and the carbonation is almost chewy. The flavor is light bread/pale caramel, and there is actually enough hop to notice, maybe even balance. Unfortunately the finish goes paperish, but it wasn’t too bad while the fluid flowed. Not a bad effort from a producer of macro c---.

Mickeys does it again! I hate ice beers, but i like this one. Not that horrible sweet alcohol taste but more a refined stale malt taste. I'd imagine if this was your local brew you'd rate it a .5 but as it was a refreshing choice to get drunk on in Detroit, instead of other crap forties, I never had a problem with it. Gotta love the little bee guy on the label. I have a feeling if i have this again for the first time in 6 years, I will not have such nice things to say.
