07/29/19 Oil can from the local ABC in Maui. Pint glass. Clear, russet amber color. Cream-colored head with staying power & sticky lace. Smells of sweet supple malt with a slight grassy edge. Taste is good bread, light toastiness, super dry, with a pleasant zing of bitter green hippiness. Frothy turning thin. Well carved & average ABV detected. Very easy & well done.

Deep copper and dark red coloured body with a thinnish, one to two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of toasted malts with some light coffee and earth along with a dry grainy note with some metal astringency and a dash of macadamia nuts as well. Medium-bodied; Rich earthy notes show with a good deal of toasted nuts and grainy malts along with a light hit of coffee towards the end with some chocolate as well near the finish. Aftertaste is rich and earthy with the malts hitting hard along with some metallic astringency and a touch of grain with a little bit of sweetness at the end. Overall, a pretty nice, very robust and earthy, nutty and complex beer for the style that almost hits more of a porter than of an amber - very nice throughout and well recommended, especially for the style, but from the brewery in general. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from Island Gourmet Markets in Wailea, Maui, Hawaii for US$2,99 on 15-April-2022 sampled a few minutes later while walking here in Hawaii while with my wife and three kids on Spring Break on 15-April-2022.
