Perhaps our most complex beer. It is big and malty with a very long finish, bitter forward with malt lift toward the end. Lightly carbonated and heavy in body. The small amount of roast barley in the mash contributes complex flavours like burnt toast, strawberry jam, coffee, chocolate, and leather. Deep garnet/ruby in colour, it is presented bright.

Hops: Nugget, East Kent Goldings, Willamette, Cluster
Grains: Pale Ale Malt, Light Crystal Malt, Roast Barley

Poured into a pint glass. Opaque deep red brown colour, good creamy beige head, good retention and lacing. Aroma roasted malt, caramel, dark dried fruit. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, some dark fruits, light spicy notes. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation, lingering malty bittersweet taste, very nice.

Cola-like body with almost no white head. A bit off putting. Taste leads with roasted malt, caramel and some chocolate. Solid hint of citrus and earthy hops.

Flight at brewery. Pours clear reddish brown with off-white head. Aroma has some wheaty malt and burnt rubber. Flavour has damp crusty malts, some plastic. Not great.

A reddish amber ale with a super thick frothy off white head, continuous gusher. In aroma, soapy grassy malt with herbaceous character, unpleasant, infected. In mouth, sweet malt with light boiled veggies, cloying, not good. OttBottShare Dec 15 2013.
