Not really any type of porter. It’s just a dark amber ale. Low hops indeed, but not crisp or lager like at ale. C’est what toronto

Got in a BIF from Coronaeus. 16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 2/6/2019. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy dark ruby red/brown color with a 2 finger dense and rocky khaki head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a large cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of toffee, dark fruit, smoke, charcoal, wood, mint, herbal, floral, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts, moderate earthy hops, and light fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark/brown bread/crust; with lighter notes of toffee, dark fruit, smoke, charcoal, wood, mint, herbal, floral, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light-moderate pine, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery hops; and roast/charcoal bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, caramel, brown sugar, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark/brown bread/crust, smoke, charcoal, wood, mint, herbal, floral, grass, pepper, pine, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, moderate earthy hops, and light fruity yeast flavors; with a great hop/char bitter/sweet balance; and no acrid/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready/grainy, and fairly sticky/resinous/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 5.9%. Overall this is an awesome American porter. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, moderate earthy hops, and light fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and easy to drink with the modestly bitter/charred/drying finish. Not aggressively bitter/charred. Outstandingly clean/rich malt complexity, perfectly balanced earthy Fuggle hops, and mild fruity yeast notes. Mild residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and perfect example of the American style. Highly impressive.

This Porter poured a deep black colour with a big, brown head. Nice lacing. Scents include caramel, coffee, tiny little bit of cocoa and burnt toast. First swig was delicious. Nice creamy mouthfeel with my favourite flavours of caramel, toast and coffee. Finish is lightly sweet and roasty. Perfecto! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark brown colour with ruby highlights and a big frothy-creamy mocha head, great retention and full lacing. Coffee aromas with some dark fruits coming out, roasted malts, caramel and molasses. Flavours of roasted malts with some nice bitterness. Aromas of a porter with the taste of a stout, but all quite drinkable overall.

Sergey’s hunt, can; 5.9% ABV
Black color, medium brownish head. Nice aroma of wood oven bread. Smooth mouthfeel, very good flavor of roasted malt, roasted nuts, breadcrust, and a bit of ashes in the end.
Very good.
