Appearance - opaque jet black. Thin beige head.
Nose - candied, burnt sugar and burnt wood.
Taste - burnt wood, saline undernote and subtle smoke.
Palate - medium bodied, creamy middle and dry, woody finish.
Overall - good, but will it develop further in the bottle?

Bottle thanks to cagarvie. Pours oily black with a thin tan head. Aromas of light smoke, toffee, tar, faint spice. Taste is rich, dark chocolate, light smoke and spice again. Light sweet finish.

Fles gedeeld met Roelzie. Het is een donkerbruin tot zwart bier met een volle bruinige schuimkraag. Het heeft een aroma van rook. De smaak is gebrande mout, rook en koffie achtig.

0.33 l bottle from 'SpeciaalBierPakket.nl', bottled in May 2025. Pitch black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, light brown head. Sweetish-malty, quite smoky-medicinal, gently roasty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, peat and some licorice. Rather sweet, malty, fairly roasty-bitter, quite smoky-medicinal taste of dark chocolate, hard roasted coffee, licorice, roasted hazelnut and peat, followed by a long, quite roasty-bitter finish. Full body, very smooth and creamy mouthfeel, very soft carbonation. Superbly balanced, thick and rich beer, quite amazing, definitely one of the best non BA stouts I've tried.

Draft @ XVI Fira de la Cervesa Artesana Jafre.
Noire, col blanc-cassé.
Arôme sur une grosse dose de malts dont pas mal de chocolat, grillé, toasté avec une caractère de tourbé assez dominant, le tout repris par des notes de fruits secs/noirs - pas mal de pruneaux.
Palais est malté avec de suite la sensation de 'boozy', pas mal de caramel/chocolat avec un support tourbé plaisant le tout laissant aussi passer un côté de fumé. Fruits noirs et secs dont principalement des dattes et pruneaux en support avec un retrait cendré.
