Triple India Pale Ale

We deal in ratios, weights, and proportions. Each beer begins with the same four categories: water, grain, hops, and yeast, each of them a world within themselves. We manipulate the inputs in relation to each other, some of them playing the background while others we push to the limits of their potential. Even within the bold Triple IPA, restraint and finesse are necessary, finding the perfect balance in order to reach its Critical Mass.

Critical Mass is a Triple IPA pouring a pale straw color with clouds of white foam rising above the glass. Utilizing a massive dose of Citra hops, notes of grapefruit juice, mango smoothies, and tangerine sorbet float above its creamy base. Additionally, a charge of the experimental variety EXP 2B from our friends at the Hop Guild ignites our senses with a unique profile. Within its piney finish, notes of Asian pear, floral quince, and syrupy honeydew melon linger on the palate. This beer is the result of tried-and-true processes applied to the cutting edge of our craft.

Can (7/27/26) shared by Chalumeaux--thanks, TJ! Opaque yellow, ring of head, trace lacing. Aroma is strong grapefruit--slightly astringent veering into herb--citrus, woody. Taste follows aroma. Smooth, frothy texture, average carbonation, mild alcohol, dry, yeasty finish with bitter finish. Grapefruit dominant, and a bit astringent at that, that hard to get other elements.

16 oz can shared by Chalumeaux. Aroma has grapefruit, soft melon, baked bread. The flavor follows with a variety of citrus fruits. Can’t say I find melon. The alcohol is slightly noted in the finish. Decent but… a triple IPA shouldn’t be served at a stout tasting.

Pours a hazy, butterscotch-banana, with mid-sized, lasting head. Aroma is floral, with citrus and tropical fruit. Flavors follow, with light underlying sweetness. Soft, soft mouthfeel. Mild hop bitterness through the finish.

Hazy orange colour and small white head. Mango, straw, alcohol, citrus in the nose. Medium-bodied. Mango, grapefruit, straw, citric bitterness. Strong but balanced. Good stuff.
