In collaboration with Robinson's and Charles Faram.
A bright, modern English Pale Ale with soft bitterness, citrus fruit notes, and subtle floral depth.
This Once Upon In Manchester is a tribute to English Pale Ale, brewed with Robinsons’ historic yeast and CF312 – a new English experimental hop from Charles Faram.
A nod to Manchester’s brewing past, and a taste of what’s to come.

440ml can from Cloudwater online store in Manchester. A slightly hazy golden orange coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, orange, malty taste, aroma is something similar. Enjoyed this one, very easy to drink.

Half pint at Bermondsey. Clear, fizzy gold, white head. Nose has malt and treacle. Light continental hop, dried herbs. Flavor is dried citrus and herbs. Some crackery malt. Mostly dry, peppery finish. Pub beer. It's fine.

Appearance- dull gold, with a 1-2 finger clingy white head. Aroma- floral hops, malty slightly yeasty notes, English hops, bit of biscuity malt. Taste is classic English bitter, hop bitterness, grassy hop traces, hints of apple and blackcurrant, quite full bodied. Bitter finish.

440ml can. Mostly clear golden with a slight haze, white head. Aroma is very fruity, hedgerow berries, resin, citrus. Taste follows suit, fruity notes, hedgerow berries, light citrus, resinous, pale malts, light bitter finish with some hop spice. Medium bodied.
Thought this CF312 hop was doing well here with it's more American flavour profile but I see Centennial and Loral were also added which, honestly, is cheating isn't it? Nice beer for sure, but I don't know as adding actual American hops makes an English pale more "modern"...

Tap at 73 Enid Street. A clear mid golden orange coloured pour with a lasting fine white head. Aroma is nice modern English hop, hedgerow berries, brambles, nutty bready malts, white grape. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, solid base malts, hedgerow hop, blackberry, grassy, some spicy hop notes in the finish. Palate is semi sweet, rounded, light hop resin, light spicy carbonation. Drinks really good.
