Part one of the terroir series of Kingston Black cider. These apples were grown ourselves, on Broome Farm, and pressed on the same day as apples from Hill Farm, in the sister bottling to this cider. Does place matter? Emphatically yes. Virtually identical appearing fruit has created two tangibly different drinks: in this bottle we have a cider with a more vinous, intense flavour, as well as more alcohol. Weight on the palate, with a dash of lemon and juniper running through the flavour, enveloped by rich red fruit character.

Notes from 7/6. Must have been a few deep & grilling if I used Notes. Bottle from Press online.
Fancy crystal iced-tea class from the basement cupboard we never use.
Clear, if slightly dusty, light gold pour. Weak soda head.
Shroom, barnyard, funky hay, bruised/browned apples, clean compost, cooked green nose.
Taste is mellow funk, veggy, earthy, light skin, very touchy apple twang, mellow tannic skin, a twinge of residual sugar. Missing those bold tropical & tannic KB notes.
Crispy, thin, a touch watered down, easy abv.
Still good-ish.
