Can shared at Dave's deal with the devil again tasting. Many thanks. A hazed brownish orange coloured pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is semi sweet, nutty malts, fruity esters, jammy fruits, toasted bread. Flavour is composed of chalky, mineral, jammy fruits, tangy green fruit. Mineral, chalky.

19th June 2026Dealing With The Devil again tasting at CBJ. Thanks to Cloin for the palate cleanser. Airy palate, a little dry, good fine carbonation. Tangy malts, tangy ripe fruits, a little ripe citrus peel. Airy semi dry finish. Quite the tangy lager come Cali Common.

Can from the friendly brewer's own stall at Farnham Farmers' Market. Labelled as a California common, and from what the brewer said had definitely been brewed as that style. Clear amber to copper with a middling fizz and a negligible head. Quite nice at first. Fruity up front - orange and ripe apple initially, with toasty bready malt behind. After drinking more it got worse though - wort-y, green apple and a little raw alcohol. Felt a bit homebrew-y. Yeah, it's not great.

Can ordered from the brewery. Lost my initial rating so am paraphrasing myself. It looks the part - clear amber with a fluffy foamy off-white head. And the aroma has dough ane caramel with a grainy edge. However it tastes pretty industrial. The initial sournedged citrus and grains plus.spice devolop a saccharine sweetness and a metallic edge. The underlying malts provide dough but it's watery rather than chewy. Thing. Light. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Fails to fire in all cylinders.
