Running Porter is a beer designed to pair with British territorial cheeses. It's a 5.6% ABV porter, brewed with a blend of Maris Otter, brown, black, chocolate, crystal, and flaked barley malts, and hopped with East Kent Goldings and Bramling Cross. The beer is inspired by the historical "running" beers of the 18th and 19th centuries, which were meant to be enjoyed fresh, unlike "keeping" beers that were aged. This freshness makes it a great match for young, crumbly territorial cheeses.

Near opaque dark brown beer, good bubbly tan head. Smooth palate, mildly dry, decent fine minerally carbonation. That typical Kernel chocolatey oaty dark malt profile, touch of roast albeit, a little thin bodied. Getting a touch of dark berries from Bramling Cross. Pretty modest Goldings citrus. A pleasant affair but not something that will last long in the memory.

Roasty and chocolately, slightly bready, dark malty and caramel malty aroma, notes of pumpernickel, dark caramel, dark chocolate, some toffee, a touch of mocha, mildly leafy hoppy and minimally ashy overtones. Taste is roasty, slightly chocolately, minimally ashy, dark malty and slightly caramel malty with subtle residual sweetness and a minimally bready touch, notes of dark chocolate, some pumpernickel, caramel, a touch of mocha, mildly bitter, minimally leafy, hoppy counterpart with a touch of tobacco; minimally ashy finish.
Creamy texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, very dense, soft, creamy carbonation.
Very smooth, homogeneous and harmonious, very rich for its abv - this is pure excellence!
