The underappreciated brother of the Moscow Mule, the Kentucky Mule, is made from bourbon mixed with lime juice and ginger beer. It is perhaps a little more exciting, thanks in part to the bourbon which adds character and complexity. But this is a Clatsop Mule, a strong barrel aged beer dressed up as a cocktail. The big but simple malt bill really soaks up the bourbon flavor from the barrels, putting it on center stage. Fresh ginger and lime peel balance out the heat to bring you an amazing beer you just might mistake for a good cocktail.

16 oz bottle fill from Growler Guys CDA. Amazing aroma of coconut, ginger, lime, wood, bourbon, caramel. Pours hazy orange with a one finger bone-white head that falls into a ring somewhat quickly. Taste is moderately to highly sweet, lightly tart, savory, boozy, light to moderately bitter and tastes like a boozy cocktail/beer hybrid, as was the intention. Taste is not quite as good as the aroma, due to the sheer booziness of it, but it's still a really nice sipper. Perfect mouthfeel. Great beer.
