Brewed with locally grown Scottish malts and fermented with our house Brettanomyces blend notable for its citrus and stone fruit characteristics. After a three-month primary fermentation this beer was refermented and conditioned with the juice and zest of winter harvest Moro blood oranges grown organically at Azienda Agricola Fausto Quintieri in Calabria, Italy.

We hand processed over 100kg of blood oranges, received fresh directly from the farmer. The juice has lent a light reddish hue to the beer, whilst the zest and juice provide bright zippy citrus aromatics.

Foodpairing: asparagus à la flamande and smoked salmon. Perfect pairing, the acidity of the beer cut though the fat buttery egg sauce and the fat of the salmon, the citrus notes in the beer were an association with the lemon juice in the sauce, but also adding extra fruit notes like oranges and even peaches, which worked very complementary on the asparagus. Lovely pairing!

Cloudy orange beer, small aery irregular white head, pretty stable, a little adhesive. Aroma: funky, lots of brett, sourish impression, zesty, oranges, fruity, a bit herbal, peaches. MF ok carbon, medium body. Taste: nice, a little funky, floral, touch, spicy, nice acidity, oranges, zesty, good! Aftertaste: slightly sweet, oranges, nice acidity, lemon juice, very pleasant, a bit spicy, some peaches, cardamom, fruity, nice!
