Can shared from Dorst, The Hague. Very dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of malt, coffee, toffee, lactose, fudge and chocolate. Flavour is moderate to light heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at the Craven Arms, Birmingham. Poured a dark brown colour with a frothy light tan head. The aroma is roasty sweet malt, creamy caramel, coffee chocolate and vanilla. The flavour is moderate sweet with a rich sweet malty chocolate caramel dry coffee palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Really rich sweet and chewy. Loads going on.

Cask @ 24th Egham Beer Festival. Pours a black color with a small tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee aroma. Roasted malty chocolate and coffee flavor. Has a roasted malty coffee and chocolate finish.

can 33cl, 5.9%, pitch black with a light brown head. Aroma of cacao, coffee, mocca, roasted/toasted, wheat. Nice tasty porter with a fine thick mouth feeling. Maybe a bit to much mocha.
Black color with a fine frothy tan head. Good intensity in the aroma. Medium (+) body and a smooth fine carbonation. Ok balance between sweetness and bitterness. Lots of mocha in the flavor. Also some chocolate and coffee.

On tap at Patrick’s. It’s a more or less black one, topped by a finger thick light beige head. Nice lacing. At first the aroma feels rather diacetyl-ish, but then the roasted, coffee-ish malts chimes in. Well, they actually takes over the whole show. Some dark chocolate and a hint of nuts and brown sugar too. It’s semi sweet on the palate, low but smooth on the carbonation and medium bodied. Lasting chocolate and coffee finish. Not really sure about this one. In one way it’s a really fine brew, in another way there’s too much resemblance of diacetyl. But it’s a fine one anyway. 160616
