It’s a chicken-or-the-egg type of thing. We’ve been to so many hop farms, selected thousands of lots, and had so many blending sessions on the brew deck, we start to forget if hops smell like fruit or if fruit smells like hops. There’s nothing quite like that spray from a citrus peel that widens our eyes and makes us a little woozy from the juicy aroma. This recipe chases that electric surge of fresh citrus and represents the zesty side of hops!
Zesty is a crisp lager that pours a brilliant straw color with lacing galore. Built upon a simple and clean malt bill, a blend of American and New Zealand hops bursts from its natural carbonation. Motueka and Zumo hops conjure aromas of fresh-zested Makrut limes, bright Buddha’s hand, fresh lemongrass, and sweet Meyer lemon juice.
Keep cold, drink fresh, and enjoy the zest!

Can from trade with Chalumeaux--thanks, TJ! Lightly hazy, bright (almost neon) yellow with thin cap of head with fair retention and nice lacing. Aroma is strong lemon, lime, honey and bread. Taste as aroma. Smooth texture, soft carbonation, finish as taste. Excellent strength for 4.4% and nice fruit additions vs. your average lager. Enjoyable.

16 oz can thank you TJ. Aroma is soft baked bread, zesty lime peel. Flavor to me is lime and lemon. Baked white bread malty base. I’ll give it there’s a lot of flavor for 4.4%. However, this doesn’t shatter my mind.

Charlton draught, 9/18/25.
Bright tropical fruit with a bit of sweet, fruity lime. Soft honey and white bread-like notes gently balance from the malt. Delicate but aromatic. Clean and bright.
Lime zest with light fruit salad and tropical fruit skin. Apple, kumquat...quite complex and all the while balanced nicely by an ample maltiness. Clean, polished, very flavorful. Lots going on here for 4.4%.
