Light golden and highly effervescent, this beer’s bright flavor and light, bubbly body are the definition of summer refreshment. Its fresh lemon citrus note is complemented by a subtle malt character, and the combination of White Wheat and acidulated malt add a crisp, tart flavor. Delicious as it is traditional, this beer will have you craving another sip.

Hazy yellow color. Minimal yeast and just a hint of acidity. Dry, aimple flavor, not sour enough.

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, best before 9/2017. Pours lightly hazy pale golden/yellow color with a 2 finger fairly dense and rocky white head with fantastic retention that reduces to a nice cap that lasts the whole glass. Thick soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of lightly tart lemon, lime, peach, pear, apple, white grape, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity yeast, bready malts, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lightly tart lemon, lime, peach, pear, apple, white grape, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate herbal/grassy bitterness and lactic tartness on the finish. Lingering notes of lightly tart lemon, lime, peach, pear, apple, white grape, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, grass, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity yeast, bready malts, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/tart/bitterness balance, and zero puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from bitter/tartness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, creamy/bready/grainy, and lightly acidic/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.8%. Overall this is a good Berliner weisse style. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity yeast, bready malts, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean and refreshing to drink; with the mildly tart/acidic finish. Very flavorful and nicely balanced for the ABV. Fits the style well enough. They used acid malt and not actual Lacto; so this is more of a pale wheat ale with a little tartness, but it’s still quite tasty. A nicely enjoyable offering.

This review was imported from my RateBeer ratings.

12 oz. bottle.

AROMA: Sweet lemon with a hint of floral.

APPEARANCE: Light gold and slightly hazy. Head is white, frothy, and dissipates slowly.

TASTE: Lightly sour with a subtle flavor of lemon juice.

PALATE: Light bodied with a thin texture. Soft carbonation with a finish that is more of the same (subtle lemon juice flavor).

OVERALL: The aroma is quite compelling. The taste, not so much.

Bottle. Sour milk, lemon, biscuit malt, and straw aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head and moderate effervescence. Lightly sweet lemon, biscuit malt, lightly sour lactic acid, and lightly bitter straw flavor. Okay body. Decent - not very sour.

Aw man. This isn’t a bad beer but damn, if you’re gonna make a Berliner Weisse, make a goddamned Berliner Weisse and not that pansy ass pale imitation of one. BBC you’re better than that. Light tart notes, hints of lemon, wheat. Flavor has elements of the lactic sourness, but weak, flavor dominated by wheat malt, a little citrus. Light finish.

Bottle. Aroma was light lemon peel, very mild wheat - smells like a lab created hefe. Flavor was very watery grains, like a mild, but with less taste. This was unfortunately unimpressive. No real tart twang here. Had to keep looking to see if this was even a Berliner. I’m not asking for a super tart puckering beer, but man...

12oz bottle. Unfiltered orange-tan body. Foamy, respectable off-white head. Pretty tame for the style, not that sour at all. Reminds me more of a Gose, with its earthy spicy undertones. Really doesn’t do the style justice. Closer to a Weisse than a Berliner Weiss. Low score overall not because it is such a bad beer, but that it falls so short for the style.

Bottle from kroger. In my Leibinger glass. Nose is quite metallic for some reason. First taste is a little less than expected. Yes its quite bubbly and on the tart side but it does not really stand up to the mild civilized berliners I’ve had in the past. You would think I was dissapointed but its not bad, it just seems to show the alky a little more than most berliners. So I guess thats the problem, it doesn’t hide the alky well and it does have a slightly higher ABV than most berliners. Either way, its better than the average beer fer sher.
