Off the Ground is a homage to this ancient lore and the spirit of serendipity. With the foundation of a clean malt bill, a delicate blend of Citra, Cascade, and Huell Melon hops brings forth notes of citrus, earthy pine, and honeydew melon. Our coffee department then roasted and ground an Ethiopian heirloom varietal from Yirgacheffe at the Danche Washing Station. Underneath a delicate layer of roast, these beans deliver bright citrus fruit character, lively acidity, and floral undertones. Off the Grounds’ zippy body and soft toastiness present as parallel notes before converging within its wholly unique fruity profile.

16 oz can thank you TJ. Aroma and flavor is soft citrus , soft herb, soft lager yeast. Coffee characteristics are subtle and under the citrus and herb. With the hops and coffee it’s still somehow ends up, finishing clean and abrupt.

Can from trade with Chalumeaux--thanks, TJ! Lightly hazy, golden yellow, no sparkle, thin cap with fair retention, no lacing. Aroma is lightly roasted coffee, citrus, florals. Taste is stronger roasted coffee, citrus, bitterness, hint of melon. Smooth, frothy texture, light body, soft carbonation and crisp, dry finish as taste. I usually don't like coffee in my "gold" beers but the subtle nature and citrus/floral contribution. Credit for complexity. Different to be sure.

Charlton side pour, 8/30/25.
Unfiltered, brilliant golden. Big, creamy, white head.
No overt coffee in the nose, but there's a touch of earthiness and mild fruitiness. Some mild acidity that smells hoppy but could be coffee acidity. Rich honey-like notes also could signify deep malts or coffee (probably a mix of both). Whatever the case, I love the approach of not blasting it with coffee.
Rich and earthy with fruitiness and mild acidity coming on in the middle. Round and almost juicy with good malt depth and good attenuation. Some spicy, touch piney hop retronasal. Clean and no unwanted coffee notes; just the earth, sweetness and fruitiness that works so well here. Could probably do even a bit more bitterness/acidity here, but it's well-balanced nonetheless.

Pours a lightly hazy, pale copper-gold, with minimal head. Aroma is grass, citrus, and a definite coffee note. Flavors follow, though the coffee is hard to find. Clean, crisp mouthfeel.
