About as good a brew as your nan makes, Cuppa Gold is an 8% Imperial Brown Ale that brings in all the best bits of a really good cup of tea. A sweet biscuity malt base brings to mind those expertly dunked digestives, and Cascade hops bring in an aroma of berries and tea. All helped by actual tea leaves of course.

We’ve made sure the texture in Cuppa Gold doesn’t disappoint, using ingredients that boost smoothness and drinkability. So good you’ll definitely want a second cup.

440ml can kindly shared by Finn. Off-white head, dark brownish body, dotted spots on the glass. Attractive smell of brown malts, and earth. Rich taste of brown malts, caramel, herbal hops, and biscuit. Long tail with brown malts, mid-sweet. Well bodied. Good drinking. (Tromsø, 19.12.2025).

Panda at home, thanks to Kenneth, 16/10/2025.
Mahogany brown topped with a lasting beige head.
Nose is caramel wafer, dark malts, biscuit, cocoa powder, toasted brown sugars.
Taste comprises toffee fudge, dark malts, light spice, dark malts, toasted sugars, chocolate biscuit.
Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close.
Not bad ... bitter sweet balance works well.

Can. Just a mild haze on this deep amber - brown beer. Good bubbly pale tan head. Airy palate, a little dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Sweet malts, not sugary sweet but caramel and cream and yes, some definite biscuit going on here. A touch of dates sits well back. Something mildly tangy fruity, the tea perhaps. A left field hop wallop compensates for some of the sweetness and comprises a good hop spice bite and light floral ripe citrus that sits on the very end just before the crisp finale. A fun and novel beer. A can would definitely be enough but, for me an interesting and entertaining brew.

Can from House Of Trembling Madness. Hazy brown body with a thick beige head. No visible carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of sticky toffee pudding, chocolate and copper penny. Flavour of caramel, rust and pine. Medium body with a slick mouthfeel. Soft fizz. This is very nice indeed, I’d gladly have a daily cuppa.

Deadication beer to Robert Bunsen, him of the Bunsen Burner invention we all played with at school, he died on this day. Nice bit of chemistry here to celebrate a chemist with sweet brown notes infused with quite a potent hoppiness - the result a very interesting brown ale taste. Not the norm but within the style.
