Sour ale aged in wine barrels with strawberries. A celebration of the summer harvest, this blond sour ale is loaded with Coastal Seascape Strawberries grown at Dirty Girl Farms in California’s santa Cruz Mountains. These delicious berries are swept by cool evening ocean breezes and drenched in warm daytime sun before being hand-picked and added to this tart and refreshing ale. Enjoy paired with classic charcuterie and summer salads.

Bottle. Pours clear pinkish rose with a medium fizzy white head that dissipates to nothing. Aroma is strawberries, oak, some vinous notes, dust, barnyard. Flavor is light plus tart, a hint of funk, fruits and vinous notes, lots of dustiness. Any diacetyl is long gone, leaving a tasty sour in its wake. Medium body, spritzy carbonation.

Bottle, thanks SirLimpsalot. Hazy golden/orange with a white head. Medium tart aroma of strawberries, light citrus and some hints of bread. Similar taste, although more tart than the aroma. Refreshing and kind of easy to drink.

Bottle. Pours a hazy gold with an orange hue and no head whatsoever. Aroma has a decent amount of oaky red wine with some strawberry and a bit of acid coming through. Flavor has more of an earthy strawberry note with light dry red wine and a bit of oak backing.

12.68 oz bottle; bottled February 2015, four months ago. Aroma is lactic, vinegar, lemon, faint wood, Band-Aid. Hazy orange pour with a collapsing white head. Taste is mouth-puckering (10/10 on a sour scale), dry, seedy strawberries, wood influence: 6/10. Carbonation fairly soft. Delicious fo’ sho’.

Bottle, picked up at the Boise Co-Op. Pours a dirty, lighter caramel color… cloudy. Short lived head is gone quickly leaving a very slight ring. The nose is sweet; strawberry and vanilla. Lots of fresh strawberries in the taste with a strong pucker factor. Great balance of sweet to tart. Enough fruit to be the focal point, but the vinous and woody notes are perfectly in check. Really nice, one of the better sours I’ve had in quite a while.

375 ml bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Hazy orange with half a finger of off-white head. Aromas of strawberries, tart acidic notes, light vinegar, subtle floral notes. Tastes of sour strawberries, tart acidic notes, vinegar, a bit of oak. Medium-light body with a dry finish.

Draft pour at Chucks hop shop. Sour event. Took me a while to realize this is different from the dogpatch strawberry, but looking back on notes, I can now tell the difference. Pours a cloudy apple cider like color with a faint sour fruit aroma. In a blind test, I may not have detected this as strawberry. Sour berry and fruit flavor. Big pucker here. Sour lingers. My kind of beer, as usual from my favorite guys. Loved it.
