26/7/2025. Bottle from Beer Without Borders. Lively pour but nice clear vibrant colour. Aroma is fruity, berries, hedgerow, malty, bready, hint of cooking chocolate. Moderate sweetness, bitterness and body. Very fizzy. Shame it was so fizzy, was otherwise decent.

Bottle from the very friendly CAMRA stand at the Birmingham NEC Good Food Show. Dark brown with an off white head and a light but pleasant frothy fizz. Bonfire smoke up front, with dark chocolate and a little toffee coming through. There's an undertone of dark berries and a little wood. Very easy drinking but loads of flavour and very satisfying. An excellent mild.

500ml bottle from House of Bruer - deep mahogany body, short lived tan head. Caramel and toffee, malty bread character, nutty and dark fruit finish.

500ml bottle [courtesy of Grumbo - thanks for another Mild!]. Clear, chestnur colour with wonderful ruby shimmer and average to huge, firm, frothy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, dark sulphureous to pale beige head. Slightly toasty, chocolately and nutty, malty aroma, hints of milk chocolate, some hazelnut, a touch of nougat, praline, toffee. Taste is sweet-ish, toasty, nutty and minimally chocolately, dark and caramel malty, diluted notes of caramel, milk chocolate, hazelnut, mildly bitter, minimally leafy, hoppy overtones. Watery texture, slightly dry palate, medium, lively carbonation. Nice composition, sadly a bit overcarbonated - decent.
